- detecting whether a multimedia device having access to a system resource is in a first state or a second state;
making the system resource accessible to device other than the multimedia device when the multimedia device is in the first state, and making the system resource inaccessible to the other device when the multimedia device is in the second state;
detecting whether the other device is in a first state or a second state; and
making the system resource available to the other device only if the other device is in the second state.
