1. A device for fastening one or more graft strands to a bone, the device comprising:

  • a first member having a first central opening, the first central opening having a cross-section defined by a first pair of circumferential opposing recesses comprising two diametrically opposed recesses and a second pair of circumferential opposing recesses comprising two diametrically opposed recesses, the first pair of opposing recesses oriented at an angle to the second pair of opposing recesses, and first and second pairs of opposing radial projections, the circumferential recesses alternating sequentially with the radial projections, wherein each recess receives one of the graft strands;

    a second member having a second central opening; and

    a fastener passing through the first and second central openings, the fastener having a proximal portion engaging the first member and a distal portion received into the bone, such that tightening the fastener against the first member compresses the graft strands between opposing faces of the first and second members.
