Abstract
A method of reducing vibration in equipment having first and second mechanically connected subassemblies is disclosed. A sensor is disposed on the first subassembly. A vibration from the sensor is recorded. The vibration is attributable to a composite mechanical operation of the first and second subassemblies of the equipment. The vibration data representative of the vibration is provided to a remote system for vibration analysis. A system for performing vibration analysis of equipment having first and second mechanically connected subassemblies is disclosed. A sensor is adapted for mounting to the first subassembly. The sensor is capable of recording a vibration attributed to a composite mechanical operation of the first and second subassemblies of the equipment. A recorder is coupled to the sensor. A vibration analyzer receives the vibration data and performs vibration analysis of the equipment from the vibration data.
