Abstract
A radio frequency identification (RFID) tag and systems and methods of using an RFID tag. The RFID tag is a multi-planar tag that may be incorporated with an object, such as a container or pallet. The tag and/or the tag/object combination may then be used in a method to track the location of the object. The multi-planar tag permits an object to be more easily tracked and increases the reliability of the tracking method.

21. A method for tracking an object comprising:
-
attaching at least one radio frequency identification tag to the object, the tag comprising a homogenous substrate enclosing an antenna and at least one radio frequency identification component, and the substrate being bent to form a first portion of the tag that occupies a first plane and a second portion of the tag that occupies a second plane; using a first radio frequency identification interrogator located in a first location to scan the tag attached to the object and transmit data regarding the object to a data storage site; using a second radio frequency identification interrogator located in a second location to scan the tag attached to the object and transmit data regarding the object to the data storage site; and tracking the object using the data scanned byte first radio frequency identification interrogator and the second radio frequency identification interrogator. - View Dependent Claims (22, 23, 24)
