1. A method of managing the delivery of electronic messages from sending e-mail servers to destination e-mail servers, the method comprising:

  • inserting an intermediate service into the electronic message delivery path ahead of a destination server by changing a DNS entry associated with the destination server to point to the intermediate service;

    receiving an electronic message sent from a sending e-mail server in the intermediate server;

    examining IP routing information associated with the electronic message; and

    deciding whether to block delivery of the electronic message at least in part based on the examination of the IP routing information and message content.
