1. A method of infrared-optically determining a concentration of at least one analyte in a liquid sample, comprising the steps of:

  • irradiating said liquid sample by transmission with an infrared radiation of high light density and of the middle to far IR spectral region, said infrared radiation having a sharp intensity peak at at least one wave length;

    measuring the infrared absorption of the at least one analyte; and

    ,comparing said infrared absorption measured with a standard;

    wherein said infrared radiation is produced by at least one tunable laser.
