1. A polymeric dental implant, configured to be implanted inside a bore created by a previous extraction of a tooth, said implant comprising:

  • a. an artificial root, comprising a non-shape-memory polymeric composition configured to be inserted in said bore, so said bore is substantially filled with said composition; and

    b. an abutment comprising a proximal end, facing the oral cavity, having means to grip the structure of an implanted tooth; and

    a distal end, efficiently anchored inside said polymeric composition; and

    c. a multi-layer structure of more than one polymeric composition;

    wherein at least one external layer is located adjacent to the bone and is substantially composed of elastic polymer, suitable for either local or systemic delivery of compounds selected from drugs and other substances; and

    wherein at least one internal layer comprises relatively non-elastic, non-shape-memory and non biocompatible polymers, designed to effectively anchor the abutment.
