1. A method of analysing fluid emissions from a body to diagnose a disease state in said body, the method comprising the steps of:
- collecting a sample of fluid emission from a body, andanalysing the emission solely for the presence or absence of at least one predetermined volatile compound wherein the emission is flatus or gas evolved from stool, wherein the presence or absence of said predetermined volatile compound in said emission is indicative of a disease state, to determine the presence or absence of said disease state in said body.
