1. Orthosis (2) for correcting the position of a body joint (6), said orthosis (2) configured to extend over two members (5, 28;

  • 30,31) connected by a body joint and being provided with a first arm (7,35) and a second arm (8,34) forming the orthosis (2), said first (7,35) and second (8,34) arms each being configured to hold on the respective member (5, 28;

    30, 31) by an attachment means (3, 4;

    36, 37) and being interconnected by a pivot joint characterized in that, the pivot joint (6) includes a unitary central adjusting ring (12) formed by an axle ring (14) embraced by the first arm (7) and a ring bearing (13) with a fixed eccentricty with respect to the axle ring (14) and embraced by the second arm (8), wherein a variable rotation plane (15) of said ring bearing (13) is configured to be varied with respect to a fixed rotation plane (16) of the axle ring (14) by rotation of the adjusting ring (12) by such an angle that the first arm (7) supported by the axle ring (14) assumes a pivot position in relation to the extended normal position, depending on the rotation angle of the adjusting ring (12), wherein the orthosis includes an assembled and a disassembled configuration and the central adjusting ring has a fixed eccentricity in both the assembled and disassembled configuration.
