1. A medical device, comprising:
- a first cardiac tissue fastener having a first lock at a proximal end of the first cardiac tissue fastener, the first cardiac tissue fastener configured to be compressed by a first sheath, wherein the first sheath includes at least one aligner on an inner lumen therein;
a second cardiac tissue fastener having a second lock at a proximal end of the second cardiac tissue fastener, the second cardiac tissue fastener configured to be compressed by a second sheath, wherein the second sheath includes at least one aligner on an inner lumen therein; and
a chord coupled to the first cardiac tissue fastener and the second cardiac tissue fastener, wherein a pulling of the chord slidably engages the first lock to the second lock in a telescoping manner to adjust a distance between the first cardiac tissue fastener and the second cardiac tissue fastener,wherein when the first cardiac tissue fastener is extended from the first sheath, the first cardiac tissue fastener is released and the first sheath facilitates locking of the first cardiac tissue fastener in place by sliding over a portion of the first cardiac tissue fastener, and wherein when the second cardiac tissue fastener is extended from the second sheath, the second cardiac tissue fastener is released and the second sheath facilitates locking of the second cardiac tissue fastener in place by sliding over a portion of the second cardiac tissue fastener.
