1. A method for forming lenses over a plurality of light emitting diode (LED) dies comprising:

  • providing a plurality of LED dies attached to a single substantially flat top surface of a support structure, the LED dies forming a two-dimensional pattern on the support structure;

    molding a rounded first lens of a first material over each of the LED dies on the support structure while attached to the support structure, wherein the first lens is formed in direct contact with the LED dies, a shape of the first lens, determined by a shape of the mold, shaping a light emission;

    molding a second lens of a second material different from the first material over each first lens after the first lens is formed to further shape the light emission; and

    curing the second material.
