1. A system for deflecting a lead, comprising:

  • a deflectable stylet having a stylet portion comprising an outer tubular member and a tension member mounted within the outer tubular member and coupled to the outer member;

    a handle;

    a rotational knob mounted at a distal end of the handle, the rotational knob having a distal facing opening to accept passage of the deflectable stylet therethrough;

    a slider disposed within the handle, the slider being coupled to the deflectable stylet and being coupled to the rotatational knob, wherein the slider is advanced or retracted longitudinally within the handle by rotation of the knob to in turn cause deflection of the deflectable stylet;

    an attachment mounted for rotation within the distal face opening of the rotational knob, the attachment having a bore to accept therein a proximal end of a lead into which the deflectable stylet is inserted; and

    means for coupling the attachment to the proximal end of the lead, wherein the lead is rotated by rotation of the attachment.
