1. A method of temporarily replacing with a secondary MRI-compatible pump a primary liquid-infusing pump coupled through a primary intravenous (IV) injection set between a liquid source and a patient while preserving the patient'"'"'s connection to the primary IV set, the method comprising:

  • connecting the patient to the primary IV set, wherein tubing of the primary IV set is used with the primary liquid-infusing pump;

    after connecting the patient to the primary IV set, infusing liquid into the patient through the primary IV set with the primary pump;

    after infusing liquid into the patient through the primary IV set with the primary pump, inhibiting fluid flow through the primary IV set;

    after infusing liquid into the patient through the primary IV set with the primary pump, connecting a secondary IV set to the primary IV set establishing fluid connections at locations upstream and downstream of the primary pump while preserving the patient'"'"'s primary IV set connection to the liquid source, wherein tubing of the secondary IV set is used with the secondary pump; and

    after connecting the secondary IV set to the primary IV set, infusing liquid into the patient through the connection thereof to the primary IV set and through the secondary pump and secondary IV set.
