1. A method for repairing a joint formed by at least two adjacent vertebrae, the method comprising:
- providing a flexible biocompatible osteogenic band comprising a plurality of elongated sections, the band having a first end and a second end, andaffixing said first end of the biocompatible osteogenic band to one surface of a first vertebra and affixing said second end to a corresponding surface of a second vertebra, the first and second vertebrae being identical to, or encompassing, the adjacent vertebrae, to maintain the joint formed by the adjacent vertebrae under tension;
wherein the plurality of elongated sections of bone are braided or woven.
