1. A method of substantially removing contaminants from air, the method comprising:
- passing a stream of air though an air-permeable filtration media comprising an air-permeable backing and at least one adsorbent at least partially applied to the air-permeable backing without the use of a binding or adhesive composition, including passing the stream of air through an enhanced electrostatic charge formed from the at least partial application of the at least one adsorbent onto the air-permeable backing; and
removing one or more contaminants from the stream of air using, at least in part, the enhanced electrostatic charge.

Abstract
The present invention provides an air-permeable filtration media that includes an air-permeable backing and an adsorbent. The adsorbent is at least partially embedded in the air-permeable backing. The present invention also provides a method of manufacturing an air-permeable filtration media. The present invention also provides a method of substantially removing contaminants form air, employing the air-permeable filtration media.
