1. A mobile video system comprising:
- a headrest;
a screen structure having a front face, a rear face opposite the front face, and a first hinge portion;
a pivot-limiting portion; and
a housing coupled with the headrest and having a floor, a top surface, a bottom surface, and two side surfaces that cooperate to define a storage cavity sized and shaped to receive the screen structure, the housing having a second hinge portion that cooperates with the first hinge portion to pivotably secure the screen structure to the housing such that the front face of the screen structure is substantially flush with a surface of the headrest when the screen structure is in a storage configuration, the housing defining an opening that cooperates with the pivot-limiting portion to limit rotation of the screen structure relative to the housing to a location wherein when force is applied perpendicularly to the front face of the screen structure, the screen structure will rotate towards the storage configuration, and wherein a substantial portion of the rear face moves away from the floor of the housing when the screen structure is pivoted from the storage configuration.

Abstract
A monitor adapted for mounting in an automobile headrest is provided. A screen structure of the monitor is pivotable about an upper edge thereof, such that the monitor occupies little volume within the headrest. A viewing angle of the screen structure is independently adjustable by a viewer, such that the viewer can continuously select the optimum viewing angle with changing conditions inside the automobile. The screen structure automatically retracts into a housing when struck. Thus, the monitor poses little risk of injury to passengers.

a headrest configured to be mountable on a seatback so as to be movable toward and away from the seatback; a screen structure having a front face, a rear face opposite the front face, and a first hinge portion; a housing configured to couple with the headrest, the housing having a floor, a top wall, a bottom wall, and two side walls cooperating to define a storage cavity, the housing having a second hinge portion, the first hinge portion and the second hinge portion cooperating to pivotably secure the screen structure to the housing such that the front face of the screen structure is substantially flush with a surface of the headrest when the screen structure is stowed in the storage cavity in a stowed position, and wherein no portion of the rear face moves toward the floor of the housing when the screen structure is pivoted from the stowed position; and a pivot-limiting portion and an opening which cooperate to limit pivotal movement of the screen structure relative to the housing to a location wherein when force is applied perpendicularly to the front face of the screen structure, the screen structure will rotate towards the storage configuration. - View Dependent Claims (13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22)
