1. A method for a secondary controller device to control operation of a secondary network adjacent to a primary network, comprising:

  • receiving a primary beacon transmitted by a primary controller device in the primary network, the primary beacon defining a primary superframe and identifying a plurality of primary guaranteed time slots within the primary superframe; and

    transmitting a secondary beacon in an assigned time slot selected from the plurality of primary guaranteed time slots, the secondary beacon defining a secondary superframe and identifying a plurality of secondary guaranteed time slots within the assigned time slot.
