1. A method for controlling a group call session between a plurality of communication units sharing a group address, the group call session controlled according to a session initiation protocol (SIP), the SIP specifying an SIP control message capable of being transferred to each of the plurality of communication units at an individual address and a response from the each of the plurality of communication units to the SIP control message, the method comprising:

  • determining a first one or more of the plurality of communication units from which the response to the SIP control message associated with the SIP is not required; and

    preparing the SIP control message using the group address including information associated with the first one or more.
