1. A repeater, comprising:
- a transceiver unit;
a data communication port provided to said transceiver unit, said data communication port providing control and data signals to the transceiver unit, said transceiver unit providing a first mode wherein the control and data signals program the transceiver unit to specify which of one or more received signals are to be processed further by the transceiver unit, said transceiver unit providing a second mode wherein the control and data signals program the transceiver unit to store said received signals in a memory storage, said transceiver unit providing a third mode wherein the control signals program the transceiver unit to select which of one or more stored signals to retrieve from the memory storage which of said one or more stored signals are to be transmitted; and
a rechargeable power supply electrically provided to said transceiver unit; and
a housing unit for housing said transceiver and said rechargeable power supply, said housing including at least one standard electrical power plug configured to plug into a standard wall outlet, said housing further comprising at least one standard electrical socket, wherein an electrical connection is provided from said at least one plug to said at least one standard electrical socket, and wherein said rechargeable power supply is provided to said plug.

Abstract
A signal repeater for receiving and re-transmitting signals from environmental transducers and the like, and for mechanically and electrically cooperating with existing electrically powered fixtures. More particularly, the present invention includes a housing unit for mechanically and electrically coupling to the powered fixture, a transceiver unit, and a first power supply electrically connected to the transceiver circuit and housed by the housing unit. The repeater is adapted to maintain the functionality of the fixture.

a transceiver unit; a data communication port provided to said transceiver unit, said data communication port providing control and data signals to the transceiver unit, said transceiver unit providing a first mode wherein the control and data signals program the transceiver unit to specify which of one or more received signals are to be processed further by the transceiver unit, said transceiver unit providing a second mode wherein the control and data signals program the transceiver unit to store said received signals in a memory storage, said transceiver unit providing a third mode wherein the control signals program the transceiver unit to select which of one or more stored signals to retrieve from the memory storage which of said one or more stored signals are to be transmitted; and a rechargeable power supply electrically provided to said transceiver unit; and
a housing unit for housing said transceiver and said rechargeable power supply, said housing including at least one standard electrical power plug configured to plug into a standard wall outlet, said housing further comprising at least one standard electrical socket, wherein an electrical connection is provided from said at least one plug to said at least one standard electrical socket, and wherein said rechargeable power supply is provided to said plug. - View Dependent Claims (2, 3, 4, 5, 6)
