- forming an opening through the stomach wall from a first side of the stomach wall to an opposite side of the stomach wall by advancing a distal tissue-penetrating tip distally into the stomach wall, and extending an elongate body through the opening;
advancing an expansion member into the opening in the stomach wall using the elongate body by moving the expansion member distally relative to the elongate body while the elongate body is slidably disposed in a lumen of the expansion member, and radially expanding the opening in the stomach wall with the expansion member; and
inserting the device through the expanded opening so that the device is implanted extending from the first side to the opposite side.
