1. A method of identifying sleep disordered breathing (SDB) episodes in a patient, the method comprising:

  • measuring a hemodynamic pressure of the patient;

    periodically deriving statistical information about the measured hemodynamic pressure at storage intervals, the statistical information including a high value, a middle value, and a low value representative of the distribution of the hemodynamic pressure over each storage interval;

    determining a ratio of a lower range to a full range of the hemodynamic pressure, the lower range being equal to a difference between the middle value and the low value, and the full range being equal to the difference between the high value and the low value; and

    determining whether the patient has experienced an SDB episode based upon the ratio.
