a fuel storage area; a fuel outlet; and a fuel heater having an inlet operably connected to the fuel storage area. an outlet operably connected to the fuel outlet, non-hollow heat pipe. and a plurality of heat transfer fins extending from the heat pipe; wherein the fuel heater includes a housing and a plurality of walls within the housing; the heat pipe and heat transfer fins are located within the housing such that the walls are located between respective pairs of heat transfer fins; and there are gaps between the walls and the heat transfer fins that together define a fuel path that extends from the inlet to the outlet.

a fuel storage area; a fuel outlet; a fuel heater having an inlet operably connected to the fuel storage area, an outlet operably connected to the fuel outlet, non-hollow heat pipe and a plurality of heat transfer fins extending from the heat pipe; and a byproduct storage area that is isolated from the fuel storage area.
