1. A measuring apparatus for use in detecting a biochemical interaction, the measuring apparatus comprising, in combination:

  • a biosensor, wherein the biosensor comprises a colorimetric resonant optical biosensor embedded into a surface of a device receiving a sample to be tested,an illumination system including a light source for generating collimated light, the illumination system and directing the collimated light towards a surface of the biosensor;

    a tunable filter operable to receive light transmitted through the biosensor and to pass a narrow band of light having wavelengths substantially centered at a passband wavelength and to reflect substantially all other wavelength, wherein the passband wavelength is adjusted according to a tuning voltage of the tunable filter, anda detector receiving light from the tunable filter wherein the detector of the measuring apparatus detects a biochemical interaction occurring on the colormetric resonant optical biosensor.
