1. An anchor member to selectively anchor a graft relative to a selected portion of an anatomy, comprising:
- a lever arm extending along a first axis between a first end and a second end;
a connection region extending from said lever arm, the connection region having a first transverse bore and a second transverse bore spaced apart from the first bore, said first transverse bore having a first longitudinal axis that extends across said connection region and said second transverse bore having a second longitudinal axis that extends across said connection region and is different from said first longitudinal axis, said first and second longitudinal axes defining a first plane;
an activation region defined by said lever arm;
a first flexible member connected to said activation region;
a second flexible member extending from said connection region, the second flexible member is received in the first bore and the second bore; and
a first extending portion of said second flexible member and a second extending portion of said second flexible member that are biased in a relaxed first position to retain said lever arm in an activated position to selectively hold the graft relative to the selected portion of the anatomy, said first extending portion and said second extending portion are moved to a stressed second position when said lever arm is in a non-activated position, said first extending portion and said second extending portion defining a second plane that is non-coplanar with the first plane when said lever arm is in the activated position, and said second plane is not perpendicular to said first plane when said anchor is in the non-activated position.

Abstract
An apparatus and method for fixing a selected graft relative to a selected anatomical portion. An anchor may be provided that may be interconnected with a selected graft portion that is operable to pass through a selected bore and then moved into an operable position to engage a selected portion of the bore to substantially eliminate the possibility of the graft moving in an unselected direction through the bore. In addition, a spacer member may be used to expand a selected portion of the graft to reduce localized stress and may increase ingrowth into a selected bony portion.
