1. An apparatus for monitoring human heart-related status parameters, comprising:
- a sensor having at least two electrodes adapted to be worn on the human body, said electrodes mounted in a spaced apart relationship to each other such that said electrodes engage inequipotential heart-related signal locations on said body within the same equivalence region of said body;
a processing facility in communication with said sensor, said processing facility receiving said inequipotential heart-related signals from said at least two electrodes within the same equivalence region, said processing facility programmed to determine a heart-related status parameter from said inequipotential heart-related signals engaged by said at least two electrodes mounted in said same equivalence region of said body;
an amplifier in electrical connection with said sensor for increasing the strength of said heart-related signal; and
a filter in electrical connection with said sensor for removing noise from said heart-related signal.

Abstract
A monitor device and associated methodology are disclosed which provide a self contained, relatively small and continuously wearable package for the monitoring of heart related parameters, including ECG. The detection of heart related parameters is predicated on the location of inequipotential signals located within regions of the human body conventionally defined as equivalent for the purpose of detection of heart related electrical activity, such as on single limbs. Amplification, filtering and processing methods and apparatus are described in conjunction with analytical tools for beat detection and display.
