1. A method of transmitting information between a preexisting communications management unit on board an aircraft and a ground air control system, comprising the following steps:
- a) detecting the reception of alerts originating from an onboard surveillance system when the aircraft is on an initial route, via a communication bus,b) when an alert is detected, shaping the information contained in the alert as a report according to a predetermined format; and
c) dispatching said report to the ground system.
