1. A device for detonation of super-compressed insensitive energetic liquid materials, comprising:

  • a flyer shell having a single-walled conical cross section clad with an explosive sheet, the conical cross section of said flyer shell being directed to form symmetric implosion of said flyer shell in a continuous manner with respect to its length from the top to the bottom;

    a sample anvil disposed at the center of the device within said conical flyer shell for retaining an insensitive energetic liquid sample material to be compressed and detonated, said anvil being surrounded by a substantial solid-phase high-explosive cylinder disposed within said flyer shell, implosion of said flyer shell being directed to initiate an obliquely oriented cylindrical imploding detonation wave in said explosive cylinder and to result in an obliquely oriented cylindrical imploding shock wave to super-compress the sample material and leading to an axially oriented detonation wave in said super-compressed sample material, said axially oriented detonation wave following said oblique shock wave after an induction delay time and propagating over the length of said super-compressed sample material;

    a lid on said flyer shell having an explosive sheet cladding including a detonator at its top center;

    said lid constructed to form a symmetric initiation of said explosive sheet on said flyer shell and to exclude initiation of said explosive cylinder from said explosive sheet; and

    alignment means for maintaining alignment of said anvil, said explosive cylinder, said conical flyer shell, said lid, said explosive sheets and said detonator.
