1. An ophthalmic system comprising:

  • a first layer comprising;

    an ophthalmic material; and

    a dye that selectively absorbs at least 5% of light in a wavelength range within 400 nm to 500 nm; and

    a film disposed on the first layer;

    wherein the film compensates for a color imbalance resulting from absorption of light by the dye;

    wherein the system has an average transmission of at least 80% across the visible spectrum; and

    wherein white light has a CIE of (0.33±

    0.05, 0.33±

    0.05) when transmitted through the system.
