Diagnostic system for power converter
First Claim
1. A power converter system comprising:
- a power conversion circuit having a plurality of signals; and
a diagnostic system that operates in a burst mode to execute multiple measurements indicative of a selected one of the plurality of signals during a burst cycle and that analyzes the multiple measurements, where the diagnostic system includes a data acquisition system adapted to provide a measured signal indicative of the selected signal, and where the data acquisition system comprises a memory storage, said memory storage further comprising a register that is programmable to select which of the plurality of signals are measured.

Abstract
A power converter system that includes a diagnostic system is presented. One example of a power converter system is an audio amplifier system, such as a switch mode amplifier. The diagnostic system in the power converter may collect data indicative of signals in the power converter system and analyze the collected data. The collection and analysis of the data may be user defined (such as multiple measurements taken over a predetermined period) or may be defined by operation of the power converter system (such as an overcurrent or voltage clipping in the power converter system). The analysis of the collected data may be used to determine one or more potential problems in the power converter system, and to modify operation of the power converter system.

24. A power converter system comprising:
-
an audio amplifier circuit having a plurality of signals; and a diagnostic system comprising a data acquisition system to provide a measured signal corresponding to at least one of the plurality of signals, where the diagnostic system statistically analyzes the measured signal based on a comparison of the measured signal with a first signal corresponding to a battery voltage used to provide power for the audio amplifier, and comparison of the measured signal with a second signal corresponding to a ground voltage of the audio amplifier. - View Dependent Claims (25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30)

31. A power converter system comprising:
-
a power conversion circuit having a plurality of signals; a diagnostic system operating in a burst mode to execute multiple measurements indicative of a selected one of the plurality of signals during a burst cycle, and further operating to analyze the multiple measurements, where the diagnostic system includes a data acquisition system, and where the data acquisition system comprises an analog multiplexor receiving signals indicative of the plurality of signals for selective provision at an output of the analog multiplexor, an analog to digital converter to convert a signal corresponding to the output of the analog multiplexor to a digital value, and a filter disposed in a signal path between the output of the analog multiplexor and an input of the analog to digital converter.

-
a power conversion circuit having a plurality of signals; and a diagnostic system operating in a burst mode to execute multiple measurements indicative of a selected one of the plurality of signals during a burst cycle, the diagnostic system comprising a data acquisition system adapted to store a count of a number of times that the selected signal reaches a predetermined state, and where the diagnostic system is adapted to indicate an error of the selected signal by comparing the count with a predetermined count value.
