1. A portable electronic device comprising:
- means for detecting coordinates corresponding to a center of an area of user contact with an operation surface, the coordinates being with respect to a transformed coordinate system;
means for storing a function representing a positional relationship between coordinates of a targeted area of contact on the operation surface and the coordinates of the center of an area corresponding to a detected contact on the operation surface; and
means for correcting the positional relationship by using an inverse of the function to transform the coordinates of the center of the area corresponding to the detected contact on the operation surface to the coordinates of the targeted area of contact.

Abstract
Disclosed herein is a portable electronic device including an operation surface for inputting an operating action of a user, detecting means for detecting the coordinates of a point of contact of a user'"'"'s finger with said operation surface, a memory for storing information representing a deviation between the coordinates of a point on said operation surface where the user desires the user'"'"'s finger to touch said operation surface and the detected coordinates of the point of contact, and correcting means for correcting said deviation based on the stored information.

3. A method of controlling an inputting action, comprising the steps of:
-
detecting coordinates, with respect to a transformed coordinate system, corresponding to a center of an area of user contact with an operation surface; storing a function representing a positional relationship between coordinates of a targeted area of contact on the operation surface and the coordinates of the center of an area corresponding to a detected contact on the operation surface; and correcting the positional relationship using an inverse of the function to transform the coordinates of the center of the area corresponding to the detected contact on the operation surface to the coordinates of the targeted area of contact on the operation surface.

4. A computer-readable medium storing computer-readable instructions thereon, the computer-readable instructions when executed by a computer cause the computer to perform the method comprising:
-
detecting coordinates, with respect to a transformed coordinate system, corresponding to a center of an area of user contact with an operation surface; storing a function representing a positional relationship between coordinates of a targeted area of contact on the operation surface and the coordinates of the center of an area corresponding to a detected contact on the operation surface; and correcting the positional relationship using an inverse of the function to transform the coordinates of the center of the area corresponding to the detected contact on the operation surface to the coordinates of the targeted area of contact on the operation surface.
