1. A system for determining and displaying a volumetric efficiency of an engine of an automobile, said engine including a plurality of original equipment manufacturer (OEM) sensors and an electronic control unit (ECU) coupled to said plurality of OEM sensors for operating said engine based on reading a sensor output from each sensor of said plurality of OEM sensors, said system comprising:
- an aftermarket display unit configured for installation into said automobile; and
a controller, said controller including;
a first memory configured to store calibration data associated with at least some of said plurality of OEM sensors and displacement data associated with said engine;
a plurality of controller inputs coupled to said plurality of OEM sensors; and
a controller output coupled to said aftermarket display unit,said controller being configured to execute program instructions to;
read said sensor output;
determine said volumetric efficiency based on said sensor output, said calibration data and said displacement data; and
display said volumetric efficiency using said aftermarket display unit.

Abstract
A system for determining and displaying a volumetric efficiency of an engine of an automobile includes an aftermarket display unit configured for installation into the automobile and a controller, the controller including a first memory configured to store calibration data associated with at least some of a plurality of OEM sensors of the engine and displacement data associated with the engine; a plurality of controller inputs coupled to the plurality of OEM sensors; and a controller output coupled to the aftermarket display unit. The controller is configured to execute program instructions to: read the sensor output; determine the volumetric efficiency based on the sensor output, the calibration data and the displacement data; and display the volumetric efficiency using the aftermarket display unit.

A method for determining and displaying a volumetric efficiency of an internal combustion engine, wherein a plurality of sensors are coupled to said internal combustion engine, each sensor of said plurality of sensors being configured to provide a sensor output relating to an operating condition of said internal combustion engine, comprising:
