1. An implantable cardiac stimulation and modulation system comprising:
- a processor for processing stimulation pulses to and/or from one or more electrodes;
a signal processing network for receiving said stimulation pulses and for providing in-phase and quadrature-phase baseband signals;
a signal processing network for receiving said stimulation pulses and for providing a filtered baseband signal;
a selector for selecting between the in-phase and quadrature-phase baseband signals, the filtered signal, or both the in-phase and quadrature-phase baseband signals and the filtered signal; and
one or more modulators for modulating said selected signal.

Abstract
Cardiac stimulation device and wireless communication system, without magnetic detection or magnetic control of the heart pacemaker parameters, having leads for carrying stimulating pulses to and or from one or more electrodes located in a heart and a pulse generator configured to generate stimulation pulses. In certain embodiments and environments the heart pacemaker could operate in an emergency room, even during Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) diagnostic studies.
A processor for connection of the stimulating pulses to and/or from one or more spread spectrum transmitter-receiver (T/R) circuits and/or from a signal processing network for receiving said stimulation pulses and for providing cross-correlated in-phase and quadrature-phase baseband signals. One or more modulators and demodulators for transmission and/or reception of one or more spread spectrum and/or cross-correlated signals.

a processor for processing signals received from one or more medical diagnostic devices; a first signal processing network for receiving said processed signals and for providing baseband signals having a first specified bit rate comprising a cross-correlator and transmit baseband filter for providing cross-correlated and filtered in-phase and quadrature-phase baseband signals; a second signal processing network for receiving said processed signals and for providing baseband signals having a second specified bit rate; a selector for selecting between the first specified bit rate signal, the second specified bit rate signal, or both the first specified bit rate signal and the second specified bit rate signal; a modulator for receiving and modulating said selected signal; and a receiver and demodulator for receiving and demodulating a modulated signal, wherein said receiver and demodulator comprises an antenna for receiving a modulated signal and a receive baseband filter for receiving and filtering the demodulated signal and for providing cross-correlated in-phase and quadrature-phase filtered baseband signals wherein said receive baseband filter is mis-matched to said transmit baseband filter. - View Dependent Claims (13, 14, 15, 16)
