1. An information processing system comprising:

  • a computer; and

    a storage system coupled to the computer and receiving update requests to data from the computer,wherein the storage system further comprises;

    a control unit; and

    a plurality of logical storages,wherein the control unit receives a preparation request identifying a first logical storage of the plurality of logical storages and a second logical storage of the plurality of logical storages, checks whether the second logical storage is available as a copy destination, and starts a replication operation between the first logical storage and the second logical storage;

    wherein at a first point in time after receiving a completion response to the preparation request from the storage system and selected by the computer, the computer transmits a journaling request to the storage system, the control unit terminates the replication operation between the first logical storage and the second logical storage so that the second logical storage holds a copy of the first logical storage at the first point in time, and starts a journal operation to store journal data in a third logical storage of the plurality of logical storages in response to a request to update data stored in the first logical storage; and

    wherein when the computer transmits a restore request to the storage system, the control unit creates a copy of the first logical storage at a second point in time requested by the restore request by using the copy of the first logical storage at the first point in time stored in the second logical storage and the journal data stored in the third logical storage.
