- a pixel portion and a driver circuit portion, wherein each of the pixel portion and the driver circuit portion comprises;
a semiconductor layer and a gate electrode with a gate insulating film interposed therebetween;
a conductive layer formed on a same surface as the gate electrode, and extending in a direction perpendicular to a gate wiring, wherein a part of a pixel electrode overlaps the conductive layer;
an insulating film formed over at least the gate electrode; and
an electrode formed over the insulating film, and electrically connected to the semiconductor layer;
an external input terminal portion, wherein the external input terminal portion comprises;
a first wiring formed on the same surface as the gate electrode;
a second wiring formed on a same surface as the electrode, and electrically connected to the first wiring through a contact hole opened in the insulating film;
a transparent conductive film formed over the second wiring, and electrically connected to the second wiring; and
a flexible printed circuit provided over the transparent conductive film, and electrically connected to the transparent conductive film.

Abstract
The present invention improves the aperture ratio of a pixel of a reflection-type display device or a reflection type display device without increasing the number of masks and without using a blackmask. A pixel electrode (167) is arranged so as to partially overlap a source wiring (137) for shielding the gap between pixels from light, and a thin film transistor is arranged so as to partially overlap a gate wiring (166) for shielding a channel region of the thin film transistor from light, thereby realizing a high pixel aperture ratio.
