1. A method of generating a manipulated output image of a scene by means of a digital camera having a sensing device and autofocus unit, the method comprising the steps of:
- capturing a focused image of a scene by sensing the image of the scene with the sensing device at the focus settings of the autofocus unit which provide an indication of positions of objects within the focused image;
storing the focus settings in a memory of the digital camera;
detecting said objects by processing the focused image utilising the indication provided by said focus settings; and
generating a manipulated output image by applying a digital image manipulating process to the detected objects.
