1. A method which controls a display on a screen and edits data using an information processing apparatus, whereinthe information processing apparatus comprises a history recording unit that records a history of commands executed by a user of the information processing apparatus during a preparation step in association with each of a plurality of preparation steps from a start to completion of a data preparation;
- andthe method comprisesan acquiring step acquiring a data size of a file from the file where data intended as a new editing object is stored;
a further acquiring step acquiring a directory name and a plurality of files as an attribute of the editing object;
a further acquiring step acquiring a history of the data size of the file in which the data size of the file has been changed by editing design information;
a further acquiring step acquiring a file name as an attribute of the file, an extension of the file, and information indicating originator of the file, as an attribute;
a recording step recording the data size of the file;
a determining step determining the preparation step from the plurality of preparation steps of the data intended as a new editing object based on the acquired data size;
wherein the plurality of preparation steps comprise;
a planning step designing an outline of a part manufactured from the data;
a detailed design step determining a three-dimensional shape of the part from the data; and
a drafting step creating a projection view from the three-dimensional shape of the part and shaping the projection view of the part used in manufacturing the part;
a retrieval step retrieving the history of commands corresponding to the determined preparation step from the history recording unit; and
a display controlling step displaying commands included in a retrieved history preferentially to other commands.
