1. A method for playing a lottery game, comprising the steps of:

  • providing a random plurality of symbols randomly chosen from a pool of unique symbols each representing a unique card from a deck of playing cards used for a card game;

    printing or displaying said random plurality of symbols using a lottery terminal;

    allowing the player to select a chosen plurality of symbols from said pool of symbols;

    awarding an instant prize to said player if said random plurality of symbols matches one of a plurality of predefined subsets of symbols from said pool, wherein each one of said predefined subsets of symbols represents a different winning hand according to the card game;

    randomly drawing a winning subset of symbols from said pool subsequent to said providing step;

    awarding a second prize to said player if some number of symbols from said random plurality of symbols matches said some number of symbols of said winning subset of symbols; and

    awarding a third prize if some number or some other number of said chosen plurality of symbols match said some number or some other number, respectively, of symbols of said winning subset of symbols.
