1. An aircraft in-flight entertainment (IFE) system comprising:
- a plurality of seat electronic boxes (SEBs) spaced throughout the aircraft, each SEB being configurable for passing a registration token along to an adjacent SEB;
cabling connecting said plurality of SEBs together in a daisy chain configuration; and
registration circuitry connected to said cabling foridentifying a first SEB based on a manual setting at the SEB, with the first SEB becoming a known point of reference with respect to a stored seating layout image of the aircraft, andpassing a registration token from the first SEB to adjacent SEBs for identifying a relative location of the adjacent SEBs with respect to the first SEB based on the stored seating layout image of the aircraft.

Abstract
An aircraft in-flight entertainment system includes a plurality of seat electronic boxes (SEBs) spaced throughout the aircraft. Each SEB is configurable for passing a registration token along to an adjacent SEB. Cabling connects the SEBs together in a daisy chain configuration. Registration circuitry is connected to the cabling for identifying a location of each SEB based upon passing of the registration token among the plurality of SEBs.

a plurality of seat electronic boxes (SEBs) spaced throughout the aircraft, each SEB being configurable for passing a registration token along to an adjacent SEB; cabling connecting said plurality of SEBs together in a daisy chain configuration; and registration circuitry connected to said cabling for performing the following for identifying a relative location of each SEB along said cabling identifying a first SEB based on a manual setting at the SEB, with the first SEB becoming a known point of reference with respect to a stored seating layout image of the aircraft, sending registration confirmation to the first SEB, the first SEB then passing the registration token to a next sequentially ordered SEB based upon the received registration confirmation, polling said plurality of SEBs for the next sequentially ordered SEB having the registration token and receiving a response therefrom, and repeating the sending of registration confirmation and the polling for the next sequentially ordered SEB until a last sequentially ordered SEB has been registered. - View Dependent Claims (13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21)

22. A method for registering a plurality of seat electronic boxes (SEBs) for an aircraft in-flight entertainment (IFE) system and being connected together by cabling in a daisy chain configuration, the method comprising:
