1. A system allowing mechanical coupling and decoupling of an electronic display to a support member, the system comprising:
- a first mounting component mountable to the support member, the first mounting component including a first engaging member disposed on one side of the first mounting component that faces away from the support member if the first mounting component is mounted thereto;
a second mounting component supportable from a back of the electronic display, the second mounting component including a second engaging member having a shape complementary to the first engaging member to permit the second engaging member to matingly engage the first engaging member by sliding the second engaging member onto the first engaging member in a sliding direction to support the electronic display on the support member, whereina) the first engaging member includes a wedge-shaped member, the width of the wedge-shape member, as measured in a transverse direction that is perpendicular to the sliding direction, monotonically changing in the sliding direction,b) the second mounting component includes a plurality of holes for inserting a corresponding plurality of fasteners therethrough to secure the second mounting component, andc) a channel is formed by the wedge-shaped member, such that, when the second engaging member matingly engages with the first engaging member, an edge of the second engaging member fits into the channel to thereby prevent the second engaging member from separating from the first engaging member by translation in a direction perpendicular to the sliding direction and away from the one side of the first mounting component on which the first engaging member is disposed.

Abstract
Disclosed herein is a system allowing mechanical coupling and decoupling of an electronic display to a support member. The system includes a first mounting component mountable to the support member, and including a first engaging member. The system further includes a second mounting component supportable from a back of the electronic display, and including a second engaging member having a shape complementary to the first engaging member to permit the second engaging member to matingly engage the first engaging member by sliding the second engaging member onto the first engaging member to support the electronic display on the support member. The first engaging member includes a wedge-shaped member, and the second mounting component includes a plurality of holes for inserting a corresponding plurality of fasteners therethrough. A channel is formed by the wedge-shaped member, such that, when the second engaging member matingly engages with the first engaging member, an edge of the second engaging member fits into the channel.

30. A method for mechanically coupling and decoupling an electronic display to a support member, the method comprising:

mounting a first mounting component to the support member, the first mounting component including a first engaging member disposed on one side of the first mounting component that faces away from the support member if the first mounting component is mounted thereto, wherein the first engaging member includes a wedge-shaped member, the width of the wedge-shape member, as measured in a transverse direction that is perpendicular to a sliding direction, monotonically changing in the sliding direction; supporting a second mounting component from a back of the electronic display, the second mounting component including a second engaging member having a shape complementary to the first engaging member, the step of supporting including inserting a plurality of fasteners through a corresponding number of holes in the second mounting component to secure the second mounting component; and matingly engaging the second engaging member with the first engaging member by sliding the second engaging member onto the first engaging member in the sliding direction to support the electronic display on the support member, the step of matingly engaging including fitting an edge of the second engaging member into a channel formed by the wedge-shaped member to thereby prevent the second engaging member from separating from the first engaging member by translation in a direction perpendicular to the sliding direction and away from the one side of the first mounting component on which the first engaging member is disposed. - View Dependent Claims (31, 32, 33, 34)
