1. A method for controlling a light emitting diode (LED) light bulb system, wherein the LED light system comprises a system controller having a wireless transmitter, an LED bulb apparatus comprising a wireless receiver for receiving signals from the system controller, an LED grouping of plural LEDs, control circuitry connected to the LED grouping for effecting a desired illumination condition of the LED grouping, a power supply for conditioning and powering the control circuitry, and the LED bulb apparatus connected to a power source, comprisingmonitoring a telephone line using the controller to detect removing the hand set of a telephone, which is the off-hook condition;

  • listening on the telephone line, using the controller, for a code when the off-hook condition is detected;

    receiving the code at the controller, wherein the code is indicative of a desired illumination condition;

    translating the code into instructions by the controller; and

    transmitting the instructions to the wireless receiver of the LED bulb apparatus via the wireless transmitter to effect the desired illumination condition.
