1. A user interface for use in designating an element of data as having a type of downloadable status, the user interface being processable by a mobile terminal comprising a transceiver arranged to receive data indicative of a set of data accessible from a network location, the user interface comprising:
- display means arranged to display a plurality of selectable display objects, said display objects being assigned to corresponding elements of the set of data, wherein the display means is responsive to user selection of a given said display object so as to designate the element of data corresponding thereto as having a first type of downloadable status, the first type of downloadable status corresponding to user preferences to designate user selection of at least one of downloadable data corresponding to data that the user would like to receive at the mobile terminal, and non-downloadable data corresponding to data that the user does not want to receive at the mobile terminal, said transceiver being further arranged to transmit selection data in response to the designation of elements having said first type of downloadable status to a network node for use in controlling the selection of elements of the set of data to be subsequently transmitted to the mobile terminal and to receive the selected elements of the set of data when transmitted to the mobile terminal, and wherein the display means is arranged to display the selected elements of the set of data in a display area of the mobile terminal.

Abstract
A method and user interface for designating an element of data as having a type of downloadable status, wherein the user interface is processable by a mobile terminal including a transceiver arranged to receive data indicative of a set of data accessible from a network location. The user interface includes a display arranged to display a plurality of selectable display objects which are assigned to corresponding elements of the set of data. The display is responsive to selection of a given display object so as to designate the element of data corresponding thereto as having a first type of downloadable status. The transceiver transmits selection data to a network node for use in controlling the selection of elements of the set of data to be subsequently transmitted to the mobile terminal and to receive the selected elements of the set of data when transmitted to the mobile terminal.
