1. A needleless injection site including:
- a housing including a main body portion with a proximal end, a distal end and a bore extending there through;
a reseal member disposed in the bore and attached to the main body portion at the proximal end, the reseal member having a substantially planar face, a second face opposite the first face, and an elastically openable and closable aperture formed therein and normally residing in a closed position wherein the aperture is in a closed configuration which prevents fluid flow there through, the substantially planar face having a diameter at least substantially equal to a diameter of the bore when the aperture is in the closed position;
said reseal member being attached to the main body portion such that only the application of distally directed force to the substantially planar face will cause the aperture to assume an open configuration, wherein movement of the second face is unimpeded within the bore, and the removal of only the distally directed force therefrom will allow the aperture to return to the closed configuration.

Abstract
A needleless injection site comprising a housing defining proximal and distal ends and including a reseal member disposed therein. The reseal member has an elastically openable and closable aperture formed therein, and normally resides within the housing in a closed position wherein the aperture is in a closed configuration. The reseal member is deformable such that the application of distally directed pressure thereto will cause the reseal member to distally advance within the housing to an open position wherein the aperture assumes an open configuration. The removal of the distally directed pressure from the reseal member will cause it to resiliently return to the closed position wherein the aperture assumes the closed configuration.

a housing with a main body portion having a proximal end, a distal end and a bore extending there through; a reseal member having a circularly configured substantially planar proximal portion and a substantially planar central portion, wherein the proximal portion is attached to the main body portion and the central portion is disposed in the bore, the reseal member having an elastically openable and closable aperture formed therein and normally residing in a closed position, wherein when the aperture is in a closed configuration fluid flow there through is prevented, the substantially planar face having a diameter at least substantially equal to a diameter of the bore when the aperture is in the closed position, the reseal member further having a distal portion opposite the substantially planar central portion; said reseal member being attached to the main body portion such that only advancement of the reseal member distally within the bore causes the substantially planar proximal portion to exert a force on the substantially planar central portion such that only the force on the substantially planar central portion causes the aperture to assume an open configuration, wherein movement of the distal portion is unimpeded within the bore.

3. A needless injection site, comprising:

a housing; and a reseal member having a substantially planar first face attached to the housing, said reseal member having an elastically openable and closable aperture formed therein and normally residing in a closed position wherein the aperture is in a closed configuration, the substantially planar face having a diameter at least substantially equal to a diameter of the bore when the aperture is in the closed position; said reseal member being deformable such that only the application of distally directed pressure to the substantially planar first face will cause the aperture to assume an open configuration, and only the removal of the distally directed pressure therefrom will allow the aperture to return to the closed configuration; wherein said reseal member comprises; a flange formed about the periphery of the reseal member; and a central portion having a notch in a second face opposite the first face, wherein the notch is an empty cavity, and movement of the second face is unimpeded within the bore.
