Method of associating audio with a position on a surface
First Claim
1. A method of enabling recorded audio to be associated with a position on a surface, said surface having a plurality of tags printed thereon, each tag encoding an identity of said surface and a location of that tag on the surface, said method comprising the steps of:
- sensing at least one tag by interacting with the surface using an optical sensing device, said sensing device comprising a microphone;
recording audio using the microphone;
determining a first position of the sensing device relative to the surface using the sensed tag;
communicating, to a computer system, the identity of the substrate, position data indicative of the position of the sensing device and audio data corresponding to the recorded audio, thereby enabling said computer system to associate said audio data with said position and substrate;
sensing at least one tag by interacting with the surface using the optical sensing device;
determining a second position of the sensing device relative to the surface using the sensed coded data;
communicating, to the computer system, position data indicative of the second position of the sensing device and the identity of the surface;
receiving by the sensing device and from the computer system audio data associated with said second position and surface, said audio data corresponding to said recorded audio if said second position corresponds to said first position on the surface; and
playing back by the sensing device the received audio data through a speaker of the sensing device.

Abstract
A method of enabling recorded audio to be associated with a location on a surface is provided. The surface has coded data printed thereon, which is indicative of a plurality of locations on the surface. The method comprises the steps of: interacting with the surface using an optical sensing device comprising a microphone; recording audio using the microphone; reading some of the coded data during the interaction; determining a position of the sensing device using the read coded data; and communicating, to a computer system, position data indicative of the position of the sensing device and audio data corresponding to the recorded audio, thereby enabling the computer system to associate the audio data with the position.
