- a) a first component comprising a spray-dried hydroxyapatite, a radical donor and poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA), wherein the spray-dried hydroxyapatite is present at about 30 wt. % to about 99.5 wt. %, based on the total weight of the first component and has a particle size of about 20 micrometers to about 35 micrometers; and

Abstract
Disclosed herein is a composition suitable for use in spinal surgery. The composition generally includes a reaction product or settable mixture of first and second components, the first component including a spray-dried inorganic filler, a radical donor, and a pre-polymerized vinyl polymer, and the second component including a radical scavenger, a diluent, a polymerization accelerator, and a reactive monomer. Furthermore, disclosed herein is a method of making the composition, which generally includes mixing the first and second components under conditions suitable to form a curable reaction product.

a) a first component comprising a spray-dried hydroxyapatite, benzoyl peroxide (BPO), barium sulfate (BaSO4), and poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA)), wherein the spray-dried hydroxyapatite is present at about 30 wt. % to about 99.5 wt. %, based on the total weight of the first component and has a particle size of about 20 micrometers to about 35 micrometers, and b) a second component reactive with the first component, the second component comprising hydroquinone monomethylether, a diluent, dimethylparatoluidine (DMPT), and methyl methacrylate (MMA), wherein the first component and second component are present in a weight ratio of about 2.2;

33. A composition comprising a reaction product of:

a) a first component comprising; about 30 wt. % to about 50 wt. % of a spray-dried hydroxyapatite, based on the total weight of the first component, wherein the spray-dried hydroxyapatite has a particle size of about 20 micrometers to about 35 micrometers; about 30 wt. % to about 70 wt. % of poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA), based on the total weight of the first component, about 0.6 wt. % to about 3 wt. % of a radical donor, based on the total weight of the spray-dried hydroxyapatite and the poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA), up to about 30 wt. % of an imageable marker, based on the total weight of the first component; and
,b) a second component comprising; about 10 wt. % to about 99 wt. % of a reactive monomer of methyl methacrylate (MMA), based on the total weight of the second component, about 0.3 wt. % to about 0.4 wt. % of a polymerization accelerator, based on the total weight of the second component, and, about 30 parts per million parts of the second component (ppm) to about 400 ppm of a radical scavenger, wherein the first component and second component are present in a weight ratio of about 2.2;

a) a first component comprising a spray-dried hydroxyapatite, benzoyl peroxide (BPO), barium sulfate (BaSO4), and poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA), wherein the spray-dried hydroxyapatite is present at about 30 wt. % to about 99.5 wt. % and has a particle size of about 20 micrometers to about 35 micrometers, based on the total weight of the first component and wherein barium sulfate (BaSO4) is present in the first component at up to about 10 wt. % of the first component, based on the total weight of the first component, and, b) a second component comprising hydroquinone monomethylether, dimethylparatoluidine (DMPT), and methyl methacrylate (MMA).

a) a first component comprising a spray-dried hydroxyapatite, benzoyl peroxide (BPO), and poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA), wherein the spray-dried hydroxyapatite is present at about 30 wt. % to about 99.5 wt. %, based on the total weight of the first component and has a particle size of about 20 micrometers to about 35 micrometers and wherein the poly(methyl methacrylate) comprises beads having an average particle size of about 20 micrometers to about 55 micrometers, and b) a second component comprising hydroquinone monomethylether, dimethylparatoluidine (DMPT), and methyl methacrylate (MMA).
