1. An occlusion device deployment system, comprising:

  • a deployment catheter having a proximal end portion, a distal end portion, a lumen therethrough, a distal edge, and an interference surface along the distal end portion and spaced proximally from the distal edge, the interference surface being a radially extending lip within the distal end portion of the deployment catheter;

    a hydraulic pressure located within the lumen of the deployment catheter;

    an occlusion device having a proximal end portion, said proximal end portion of the occlusion device removably disposed within the lumen of the deployment catheter;

    a deformable interference element located on the proximal end portion of the occlusion device, the interference element comprises a deformable radially extending flare extending from the proximal end portion of the occlusion device, said deformable interference element having an initial configuration in which the flare extends radially outwardly and a deformed configuration in which the flare is deformed radially inwardly and longitudinally from the initial configuration, and the interference element transitions from the initial configuration to the deformed configuration upon an increase in the hydraulic pressure within the lumen of the deployment catheter;

    wherein the deformable radial flare interference element engages the radially extending lip interference surface within the deployment catheter to secure the proximal end portion of the occlusion device in the lumen of the deployment catheter when the deformable interference element is in the initial configuration; and

    wherein the deformable radial flare interference element disengages the radially extending lip interference surface within the deployment catheter when the radial flare interference element is in the deformed configuration, allowing the proximal end portion of the occlusion device to be removed from the lumen of the deployment catheter.
