1. A method adapted for verifying presence of a medical implant implanted within a medical implant patient, comprising:

  • at least one data processing device accessing, from memory coupled to said at least one data processing device, instructions causing said at least one data processing device to authenticate the medical implant patient, wherein causing said at least one data processing device to authenticate the medical implant patient includes causing said at least one data processing device to correlate an image showing the medical implant as actually implanted within the medical implant patient, patient identification information and an image showing an implant operation scar of the medical implant patient resulting from actual implantation of the medical implant therein;

    said at least one data processing device accessing, from said memory, instructions causing said at least one data processing device to create an authenticated-patient medical implant verification account (MIVA) for the medical implant patient in response to said at least one data processing device successfully authenticating the medical implant patient, wherein causing said at least one data processing device to create the authenticated-patient MIVA includes instantiating an account instance with an identifier designating the image showing the medical implant as actually implanted within the medical implant patient and an identifier designating the image showing the implant operation scar of the medical implant patient resulting from actual implantation of the medical implant therein;

    said at least one data processing device accessing, from said memory, instructions causing said at least one data processing device to issue an authenticated-patient medical implant verification card (MIVC) to the medical implant patient in conjunction with causing said at least one data processing device to create the authenticated-patient MIVA for the medical implant patient, wherein the authenticated-patient MIVC includes thereon the image showing the medical implant as actually implanted within the medical implant patient and the image showing the implant operation scar of the medical implant patient resulting from actual implantation of the medical implant therein;

    said at least one data processing device accessing, from said memory, instructions causing said at least one data processing device to receive MIVA access information included on the authenticated-patient MIVC and MIVA access information received from a holder of the authenticated-patient MIVC;

    said at least one data processing device accessing, from said memory, instructions causing said at least one data processing device to compare authenticated MIVA access information with said received MIVA access information maintained within said memory; and

    said at least one data processing device accessing, from said memory, instructions causing said at least one data processing device to display the image showing the medical implant as actually implanted within the medical implant patient and the image showing the implant operation scar of the medical implant patient resulting from actual implantation of the medical implant therein thereby allowing said images included on the authenticated-patient MIVC to be compared against said displayed images while said images are being displayed and allowing verification that a holder of the authenticated-patient MIVC has a scar thereon appearing the same as the image showing the implant operation scar of the medical implant patient resulting from actual implantation of the medical implant, wherein causing said at least one data processing device to display said images is performed in response to said at least one data processing device successfully matching said received MIVA access information with a portion of said authenticated MIVA access information.
