1. A method for processing a signal using pilot based coding (PBC), the method comprising:
- obtaining, by an audio coding apparatus and using a pilot based coding (PBC) scheme, a first partial parameter using a pilot reference value and one or more pilot difference values, the pilot reference value corresponding to data elements of a current group included in a current frame, and the one or more pilot difference values corresponding to the pilot reference value and the data elements; and
defining a whole parameter using the first partial parameter and at least a second partial parameter,wherein;
the pilot reference value is dependent on each of the data elements of the current group, and is not dependent on the data elements of an other frame,a quantity of the pilot difference values is equal to a quantity of the data elements of the current group,the pilot reference value is a single value which applies to all of the data elements of the current group, andeach pilot difference value corresponds to each data element of the current group.

Abstract
Apparatus and methods for processing a signal are disclosed. Data coding and entropy coding are performed with interconnection, and grouping is used to enhance coding efficiency. The subject matter includes a payload part having at least one of data coding information including pilot coding information per a frame and entropy coding information and a header part having main configuration information for the payload part.

10. A method of processing a signal, comprising:

to obtaining, by an audio coding apparatus, a first partial parameter using a reference value corresponding to the first partial parameter and a difference value corresponding to the reference value; deciding a parameter using the first partial parameter and a second partial parameter, wherein the second partial parameter is obtained if a quantization scale of the parameter is not coarse, deciding the parameter including; twice multiplying the first partial parameter; and adding a multiplication result to the second partial parameter, wherein the parameter is spatial information comprising at least one selected from the group consisting of channel level difference (CLD), interchannel coherence (ICC), channel prediction coefficient (CPC) and arbitrary downmix gain (ADG); and reconstructing an audio signal using the decided parameter.

11. An apparatus for processing a signal, the apparatus comprising:

a decoding part configured to; obtain a first partial parameter using a reference value corresponding to the first partial parameter and a difference value corresponding to the reference value; decide a parameter using the first partial parameter and a second partial parameter, wherein the second partial parameter is obtained if a quantization scale of the parameter is not coarse, deciding the parameter includes; twice multiplying the first partial parameter; and adding a multiplication result to the second partial parameter, wherein the parameter is spatial information comprising at least one selected from the group consisting of channel level difference (CLD), interchannel coherence (ICC), channel prediction coefficient (CPC) and arbitrary downmix gain (ADG); and a reconstructing part configured to reconstruct an audio signal using the decided parameter.
