A transflective liquid crystal display device including a liquid crystal display panel having a pair of substrates and a liquid crystal layer sandwiched between the pair of substrates, the liquid crystal display panel including a plurality of sub pixels each of which has a transmissive portion and a reflective portion, each sub pixel out of the plurality of sub pixels having a counter electrode formed on one substrate out of the pair of substrates and a pixel electrode formed on one substrate, the counter electrode and the pixel electrode generating an electric field for driving liquid crystal of the liquid crystal layer, whereinthe counter electrode and the pixel electrode in the reflective portion are stacked by way of an insulation film,and the counter electrode and the pixel electrode in the transmissive portion face each other in a planer direction.
