1. A container for receiving a blood sample including:

  • a proximal end portion and a distal end portion and a pair of peripherally sealed oppositely facing walls wherein a peripheral seal defines an interior chamber;

    a single plastic tube communicating with and extending into said interior chamber from the proximal end portion of said container, said single tube defining an uninterrupted flow path terminating in an open distal end, said single tube and flow path therein extending substantially across the entire distance of the interior chamber from the peripheral seal at the proximal end portion and between said walls such that the open distal end of said tube terminates adjacent to but spaced from the peripheral seal at the distal end portion of the container,said single plastic tube providing the only path for blood flow into and out from said chamber.
