1. A method for enhancing the resolution of a seismic-data image, comprising:
- positioning a sampling probe around seismic data, the seismic data comprising at least one of the seismic data within the sampling probe and the seismic data intersecting the sampling probe;
extracting with a processor only the seismic data that are perpendicular to a reflection surface that is closest to a center of the sampling probe;
repositioning at least a portion of the extracted seismic data in a visible planar face of the sampling probe to form an enhanced image of the seismic data image; and
displaying the enhanced image.

Abstract
Systems and methods for enhancing the resolution of a seismic data image displayed on a face of a sampling probe. The enhanced image represents a maximum resolution of at least a portion of the seismic data image. The seismic data image is enhanced by extracting seismic data that are perpendicular to a reflection surface that is closest to a center of the sampling probe and positioning the extracted seismic data in a visible planar face of the sampling probe.
